Dhoni is ready for Cricket World Cup 2011

India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said he is ready for upcoming World Cup Tournament and this can prove to be a blessing in disguise for his injury-hit team. The team India have been sweating over the fitness of batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir and bowler Praveen Kumar & Zaheer Khan. We are looking to play the best 11 on each given day and hope that our main players do not miss out due to injuries.

India has previously co-hosted the tournament twice, in 1987 and 1996 and now again India is co-hosting of the tournament along with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, are set to play six league matches in the period of 29 days and Dhoni said the gap would allow his players to recoup their energy.

Dhoni is leading a star-studded batting lineup that includes Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh, and the captain said Tuesday at a news conference that India “would take each game with a positive frame of mind.”

Dhoni said, "The schedule may work in our favor," & "It will help our players relax and take care of niggles and injuries and we will be looking to play our best eleven and ensure that we do not miss out on our main players due to injuries. We will try and utilise the gaps in the schedule in the best possible manner.

He Said, we also know no team has ever won the World Cup on their home soil. But just because no one has done it before does not mean that it cannot be done but "We have a very good chance of creating history."

“We are ready to perform well. We are not thinking about, ‘What if we don’t succeed?”’
