NSE, BSE and other stock indices in India have numerous risks in investment that can result in a havoc.

Here are a few tips that would hopefully save you from losing a lot of cash in the current frenzy.

Don't make huge investments

Stock market can be a pool of profits or a ground of heavy loss. Be careful in money management during investments in shares. Don't invest huge amounts at one go. Keep a track on top losers and top gainers at stock market. When the market falls, buy some shares. When it dips again, go for the second leg and buy the shares. To summarize, pick up the shares in stages. Keep yourself updated with fruitful derivatives at BSE & NSE.

Buy and Sale of stocks

Only buy fundamentally strong stocks, which are undervalued. Choose out for companies with strong management and avoid the loss making companies. When the market dips, go ahead and buy some stocks. Bank upon most active shares in NSE & BSE & . Don't just buy stocks in one sector. Make sure you are invested in stocks of various sectors. Try out various stock options & Nifty options. Sell the shares when the market peaks. The peaks and low points of a share can't be pre-determined. For this purpose, keep a close watch on the share price for sometime and then take appropriate desicion.

Dump the Junk

Share market is very dynamic and volatile. It keeps fluctuating within no time. Don't panic in such situations. If the prices of your shares fall, don't sale them in a hurry. Stay invested if nothing fundamental about your company has changed. Any shares you bought but no longer showing a profit, you could consider selling them at BSE & NSE. Even if they are not going to give you a substantial profit, it is time to dump them and utilize the money elsewhere if you no longer believe in them.

Resurgence of the Financial Markets

India, it seems has successfully managed to fight the on-going economic downturn so far and is now on a course of economic revival.

Signs of this revival are coming from a strong upward rally by the stock market, renewed foreign investor confidence, increased consumer spending, more job creations, etc. These tell-tale signs have all resulted in a renewed hope that Indian Financial Markets such as its Stock Exchanges like the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange will continue this steady upward swing.

The upcoming Union Budget of the UPA Government will be again a good indicator of the course that the Indian Financial Markets take from here onwards and how soon they are able to come out of the economic turmoil that the world faces. The finance ministry will have to ensure that the budget brings out key economic policies which take India into the path of economic prosperity.

We will keep you posted on the India Budget as and when it comes out and will try and capture some of the key Budget Highlights.

What Will Be The Indian Rupee Symbol? ~ A Thought

We Thank everybody for the tremendous response to our blog titled: “WANTED: Symbol for the Indian Rupee.”

After going through the valuable comments posted by our readers it seems a given now that India needs a Rupee Symbol as soon as possible. BUT...

The Million Dollar question or in our case Million Rupee question is:

What should be this symbol?

We would like to put our dear readers to a test out here. Please unleash your creativity and give us suggestions as to what this symbol could be.

Draw it out here. Upload it on this blog.

{Hint: We feel it has to be a symbol that captures the true ethos and colors of India}

We also wondered post the release of the Rupee symbol, what would happen to:

A. All the Indian currencies in the market, will it be a Total Recall of every penny in the country or a just a large scale minting effort for new ones?

and

B. How would the IT world cope up with the new symbol on the zillion softwares and Personal Computers that are already existing minus the new symbol? Ever wondered: How would you type it?

In the end we conclude with an observation that it might not be as easy as it sounded with the announcement of this competition.

There would surely be a few hiccups along the way...

WANTED: Symbol for the Indian Rupee.

We are sure none of us never took notice of this amiss: India is minus a currency symbol.

Whether this was purely a fact missed by everyone or a conscious decision to not have a currency symbol till date. Whatever the reasons, steps have now been taken to proceed towards having a currency symbol of our own. The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance India has thrown open a competition to the public for the design of the symbol for the Indian Rupee.

All the major currencies in the world like the Japanese Yen, U.S. Dollar, GB Pound, Euro etc. are represented through beautifully designed symbols and it is only a matter of time now that India will also turn up with one of its own. We thought of shaking up the creative bent in you by sharing this write-up on this bit of news which was not given due recognition by the media at large.

So what are you waiting for? Here is the motivation for you: A whopping Rs. 2,50,000/- in prize money announced by the Government for any one who comes up with a design by April 15, 2009.

For the detailed circular dated 26-Feb-2009, please visit http://finmin.nic.in/the_ministry/dept_eco_affairs/currency_coinage/cc_index.html

Happy Designing . . .
