IPL 2009

There was a big question mark over the start of the IPL Season 2, when the dates had clashed with the General Elections in India. Finally, the IPL was shifted out of India to South Africa. This was a great news for the cricket fans. One can clearly see the excitement all across India with the IPL fever at its peak.

As we move into the sixth day of IPL matches in South Africa, what started as a possible rain marred tournament is now slowly but surely catching up to all the excitement associated with the Twenty20 format of cricket. We have already witnessed some exciting matches so far, with a great crowd attendance in the grounds of South Africa. In India, there is amazing buzz all across and people are glued to their television sets to catch up with the latest on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2009.

We caught up with an exciting television byte during the live telecast of the IPL match yesterday. The local kids at the venue were picking their favorite teams out of the 8 teams participating in this years tournament. It was sheer joy to witness the excitement of the local crowd as they struggled taking the names of their favorite IPL teams.

With so much of talent on display at a single tournament we couldn't help but decide on our favorite IPL team.

So we ask: Which is your favorite IPL Team and why?

When Sachin met 'Sachin'.

The 'God of Cricket', Sachin Tendulkar has added another feather to his cap by finding a place at the famous Madam Tussauds Wax Museum in London. The museum houses wax replicas of famous personalities from all over the world and is a popular hot spot in London.

How could have Sachin not found a place in the famous wax museum after what he has achieved in his remarkable cricketing career playing for India? With a debut in 1989, this iconic superstar of the present generation is still going great guns after a long career spanning 20 years. He is still the hope of a billion people whenever he dons the India colors and steps in to a cricketing field. Tendulkar became the first Indian sports star to have been replicated in wax at the famous London wax museum.

Considering his busy cricketing schedule and commitments for the IPL in South Africa, representatives from Tussauds flew in to Mumbai to let Sachin Tendulkar unveil his wax statute.

Admiring the beautiful work done by the sculptors at Madam Tussauds, when Sachin met 'Sachin' he was in awe of the end-result and made a light remark looking at his wax statute, “I am glad he does not breathe.”

We all wish more success and glory for this iconic superstar who is the perfect role model to emulate.

Jaago Re ~ Your Every Vote Counts

Election fever has gripped India. The Indian General Elections 2009 are scheduled to be held in 5-phases starting 16th April, 2009 and ending with the last phase on the 13th of May, 2009.

There has already been many violations of the Election Commission's Code of Conduct by desperate politicians trying to play dirty vote bank politics. Its our choice to either weed out such politicians or continue falling prey to such politics which has no agenda other than dividing our country.

We urge you all to exercise your right to franchise. We all love to speak on national issues be it cross-border terrorism, eradicating poverty, corrupt politicians, better governance and any similar issue of national importance. But when it comes to voting most of us are reluctant to exercise the power of our ballots.

Now is the time to Walk that Talk. It is time to register your vote and get involved in the process of elections and vote for the candidate or the party you think can represent your issues and run your constituency in the most efficient manner.

The Dream Team urges you all to go out and vote to demonstrate your faith in our mighty democracy and give the reins of the country to the right people who can take our country into the path of economic prosperity. Our wish to you all is Jaago Re !! to LEAD India. We support these campaigns.

Maruti Plans a 'Tata'

How ironic it is??

Tata Nano- IN
Maruti 800- OUT

Maruti has announced plans to phase out the people's car of India 'Maruti 800' starting next year.

The Euro-IV emission norms would be applied in 11 cities by 2015-16 and Maruti has decided not to upgrade their popular Maruti 800 car to meet these emission norms and instead go for a systematic phase out by the time these norms are enforced.

"Once Euro-IV emission norms are applied across the country, which is likely to happen around 2015-16, then M800 and Omni may not be a saleable product. We will have to eventually phase (them) out them" said R C Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India.

The timing of this news couldn't have been more ironic than the present when the rival Tata Group has made a breakthrough entry into the small car segment with the introduction of the worlds cheapest car, Tata Nano. However, the Dream Team is sure that the iconic brand of Maruti will not surrender their market share so timidly to the Tata's and will gather around the drawing board to come out with a response to the Nano.

It is indeed sad to see the original people's car go and that it will no longer be made.

We end on that sad note.

Please keep your thoughts flowing.
