Gateway of India is one the most famous attractions in Mumbai. It is the huge basalt arch, located in the waterfront in Colaba district. Gateway of India Mumbai was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911.
Architecture of Gateway of India
Gateway of India Mumbai was designed by George Wittet in the early 20 th century. The arch is 26 meters high, built of Yellow basalt and reinforced concrete. It is built in Indo-Saracenic style of architecture.
