Eco tourism is a new concept in India and is of utmost importance for the growth of the country. Main focus of eco-tourism in India is to highlight the nature destinations so as to promote the culture and traditions of the society. Eco-tourism lays stress on protection and conservation of natural resources, culture and economy of the country along with exploring tourism possibilities. Eco-tourism is mainly concerned about saving our ecology and maintaining ecological balance in atmosphere.

Eco-tourism is highly effective in tackling greenhouse effects and global warming situations upto a great extent. It reminds human being about his responsibility about saving nature. There are a large number of eco-tourism destinations in India where one can enjoy mother nature to its fullest. Some of such destinations include Himalayan regions, North-East Region, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshwadeep Islands.
