Deccan Chargers ~ CHAMPIONS of DLF IPL 2009

The verdict is out...

Deccan Chargers ~ DLF IPL 2009 CHAMPIONS

After over a month of exciting Twenty20 Cricket in South Africa and in an amazing turnaround, last year's bottom-most ranked team Deccan Chargers won the DLF IPL 2009 Championship. IPL kickstarted on 18th April and culminated with the Final on 24th May. The Final match was played between Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Johannesburg and was a nail biting thriller of a match.

There was a big question mark over the start of the IPL Season 2 when the Indian government couldn't provide the adequate security for IPL in the wake of the General Elections. The venue was shifted to South Africa. What followed was sheer MAGIC.

The beautiful South Africa proved to be the perfect hosts to the IPL as the tournament created lot of excitement within and outside the country. We are sure that the IPL Season 3 next year would bring in more excitement and turn out to be bigger 'n' better than the current season which just ended.

Till then its Goodbye on the IPL :-)

Race for the next Indian PM . . .

Kaun Banega PM ??

The Race to 7 Racecourse Road is getting into its final stages. The real fight and drama of Indian politics will unfold once the last phase of election on the 13th of May gets over and the counting results are out on the 16th of May.

Lot of pre-poll alliances are set to shake up after the final election results are out. There are already rumours doing the rounds that many parties who have had pre-poll alliances with two of the biggest national alliances namely the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and the National Democratic Front (NDA) might change loyalties after the emergence of the final tally.

It would be interesting to see who becomes the next Prime Minister of India. It is an interesting mix of names which are already in the fray. Current Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh from the UPA and LAl Krishan Advani from NDA are two of the biggest names for the PM's post. However, in the present scenario of coalition politics there is no guarantee that the fight for the PM's post stay limited to only Dr. Singh and Mr. Advani alone. Key political parties who will eventually play an important role in the shape up to the next Government will throw open their own names for the post. Names like Sharad Pawar, Nitish Kumar, Laloo Prasad Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati are also being most talked about for the Prime Ministerial position.

As the final dices roll in the Indian political arena, let us wait and watch as to who becomes the next PM of India.

We welcome your guesses and as always NO PRIZES for guessing.. :-)

Elections 2009- Vote Appeal

Fourth Phase of Elections

The Political environment of India is heating up with the on going elections.

Indian General Elections head into its 4th phase tomorrow when 8 states of India will contribute towards shaping up the next Indian government. The eight states include: Bihar, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Delhi.

85 parliamentary constituencies will be covered when voting takes place in around 1.30 lakh polling booths across 8 important states.

Eyes would be set on the voting percentage especially in the capital of Delhi. All the efforts by the media and various agencies could not lift up the spirits of the Mumbaikars and the voting percentage their was a dismal 43.52 %.

We urge all our reader to go out and vote tomorrow and shape up the future of our country. Right to franchise is one of the most important right of democracy which should at all costs be exercised to ensure a better and prosperous nation.

India's Sporting Heroes

Today we thought of covering Indian Sports.

"India- A land of a billion people has never gained much when in comes to sporting achievements." This statement would have been right a few years back.

However, things are changing for the good now. With increased focus on development of sports in India, the country has started witnessing heroic efforts from its sporting talents. As we witnessed in the Beijing Olympics 2008, three medals came India's way in shooting, wrestling and boxing. This was one of the best Olympic performance of India till date.

The performance at Beijing Olympic is a clear indication that India is set for bigger sporting victories in times to come. Thanks to its many sporting icons.
